My Story
My name is Jeremy Smith and I’m an indie game developer and pixel artist. I live near Portland, Oregon with my husband and two cats, Kupo and Vivi.
I have always loved creating games as far back as I can remember. I would force my poor brother to play them, whether they were with our Legos or a bunch of doodles on paper. Eventually, I worked my way up to MS Paint, StarCraft map editor, and finally my first completed game on RPG Maker for the PlayStation 1, which no one should ever see.
During the 2020 pandemic, I decided to finally learn to program in all the free time I had. Two and a half years later I released my first game,
The Endless Tower. It was a buggy mess but it was a great way to learn. I’m quite proud of it, despite all it’s flaws.
In the Summer of 2023, I took part in the GMTK Game Jam where the goal is to create a full game in 48 hours following the theme of “Roles Reversed”. After a ton of work and not much sleep, I made Lab Rat’s Labyrinth, where you, a lab rat, build a maze around a shrunken scientist as he runs toward the exit.
I got a lot of positive feedback so I decided to put all my effort behind this idea and created my first monetized game, Dungeon Delivered!
It’s been a lot of work and a lot of fun! I’ve had so much support from friends and family and I couldn’t have gotten this far without them.
I hope you enjoy my games and please reach out if you have any ideas, thoughts, or feedback at any of my socials or dev@smithygames.com.
